Delta’s diversity doesn’t stop at Nashville’s major festivals



Country music star Garth Brooks is expected to break Nissan Stadium's record of crowd travel on Saturday night as Nashville continues to run away from major events.


More than 70,000 fans are expected to pack seats to see the National Music Hall.


Luke Bryan performed at the Bridgestone Arena on Friday night and the 20th Brewer City Music Festival on Saturday night.


The incidents took place as new cases of COVID-19 circulating in Central Tennessee as a result of a separate Delta infection. The CDC released a new guide this week, advising masks inside.


While Nissan Stadium is an outdoor venue, Brooks on Friday urged people not to sit on the streets in fear of doing things they feel are right for them.


"If you see someone in a mask don't look down on them. If you see someone without a mask don't look at them," Brooks said. "We all get out of this at our own pace."

While Nashville leaders have said there are no plans to impose any COVID-related rules, the responsibility lies with citizens to do what health officials recommend to reduce the spread of the virus - vaccination and wearing a mask around others.


Everything you can do is all you can do, Brooks said. I have been vaccinated. I would advise you to be so but until we make the law, that is your choice. "


Brooks, who has lived in Nashville for more than 30 years, dreamed of doing a tour of the stadium since he was a young musician. He says on Saturday night, it will be a privilege to bring together people from the Garth Brooks party.
