Flash Flood Watch Out Effects in All Parts of Massachusetts and Connecticut
After a 15-day recording in Boston starting in July, we finally got a dry day on Thursday.
But that did not last long.
Rain and storms began on Friday and over the weekend the weather became very wet. Heavy rains and storms in the afternoon led to lightning and heavy rain. Flash floods occur in many areas throughout Massachusetts north of Connecticut and Rhode Island with 1-3 rainfall ”.
Some parts of northeastern Connecticut saw approximately 5 ”rainfall.
The threat of heavy rain and thunderstorms will continue overnight. Since the earth is already flooded due to recent rains, heavy rains can lead to rapid growth of small streams and rivers. Road flooding can occur in low-lying areas with water pipes.
FLASH FLOOD WATCH operates Sunday morning in central and western Massachusetts and north of Connecticut.
