The 73rd annual annual Primetime Emmy Awards nomination, honoring the best performers and last year's TV shows, will be unveiled on Tuesday.
The father of the daughters of Ron Cephas Jones (“This Is Us”) and Jasmine Cephas Jones (“Blindspotting”) will announce the nominees as well as the Chairman and Director of the Television Academy Frank Scherma. The announcement will begin at 8:30 a.m. PT / 11: 30 am ET, and available for download on Emmys' website, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. To qualify for this year's Emmy Awards, exhibitions were to be broadcast between June 1, 2020, and May 31, 2021.
The effects of the COVID-19 epidemic are still evident in this year's Emmy Awards. For one thing, delays in production and problem planning have contributed to the declining number of inputs generated by networks. Variety reported last month that the total number of exhibits presented at the awards show sank sharply last year. The race for the drama series dropped from 197 titles to 133, the comedy series dropped from 111 to 68 contestants, and the average series / anthology category went from 41 to 37. The category of TV movies, on the other hand, has risen from 28 last year to 41.
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has been seeing a spotlight on American primetime TV programs since 1949. Television Academy has more than 25,000 members working for 30 peer groups, including producers, directors, producers, art directors, and various artists and directors.
The 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards will be played live on September 19 at 8 p.m. on CBS and Paramount Plus.
