Naya Rivera's family remembers her on the anniversary of her one-year death.
The "Glee" star disappeared on July 8 last year in Lake Piru, California, on a boat with her son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, now five years old. Dorsey was later found alive, and Rivera was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was found five days later.
Yolvera Previtei, Rivera's mother, told "Good Morning America" that she was often frustrated by the grief.
"Sometimes we are afraid that the grief is too much for us, because this is difficult. There are no words to describe what we are going through," he said. "All we know is that we get along."
Prevenzele said she felt she was there for her daughter.
"I feel Naya's strength telling me all the time, 'Mom, be happy. Don't cry. I'm fine, go get Josey. Have fun.' And I feel like it came from him, "he said. "I literally wake up every morning, and it's almost like a restart button, and I have to move it, with each foot. And here we are."
The last time she saw her daughter was on the phone on FaceTime this morning about the tragedy.
"I remembered his two FaceTime calls, I called him again. And we had a wonderful conversation. The sun was amazing on his face and he was just so beautiful," she said. "She was wearing a white, beautiful and bright suit."
They discussed how the water turned into "choppy." Later that day, two detectives warned her that Rivera was not there.
"It was almost like a force. I don't know what it was, but I was just pushed back. I just ran back, if you can imagine, I just screamed and ended up in the bathroom. I knocked on the door, I was down and I had to clean myself," he said.
Finding his daughter "was a relief, in a way," she said.
Previtei also thanked the detectives, describing them as "very kind."
Rivera's younger sister, Nickayla Rivera, told "GMA" "if we go back, we will have a little hug."
Naya's younger brother, Mychal, in a statement said: "One year without you, one year near the time we will meet again. Your infinite power continues. May you continue to rest in grace, Naya."
