Bellator 263 results, comments: AJ McKee insults Patricio Pitbull to claim featherweight title by importing

AJ McKee's climb to the top of the Bellator diet chain was completed on Saturday night when the 26-year-old defeated Patricio Pitbull in the main event of the Bellator 263 to win the featherweight championship. McKee not only won the featherweight title but also won a $ 1 million prize by winning the Bellator Featherweight World Grand Prix.

The fight opened slightly, with both of them standing in line to kick. The distance tended to reach for a long time for McKee, which proved to be less than two minutes into the opening round.

McKee threw his head when Pitbull fell, moving his head straight to McKee's leg. A few shots later, Pitbull was on tovas and McKee began celebrating. The fight was not over yet, however, and McKee stormed back and locked up the guillotine choke to force a suspension with the technical introduction coming in at 1:57 in the 1st Round.

Pitbull and his corner seemed confused at the end of the fight. Pitbull had not clicked on his scratch and it was McKee who told the referee that the champion had gone out to a stationary guillotine, which led to a halt. The results were intercepted, however, and Pitbull shared a moment with McKee in the middle of the cage with the men bowing to each other and exchanging gestures of respect.

McKee, who won the title in front of the home crowd at the Forum in Inglewood, California, was Bellator's main hope after earning a degree in 2015 and hitting 17 points straight into the final round of the Grand Prix.

After rehearsing in the professional wrestling match against the lower echelons, McKee took a big step when he entered the tournament but proved his determination to do the job all the time, earning four grand prizes to take home a million dollars and the first championship in his career.

"Man, all my dreams come true," McKee said after the fight. "It's amazing. We're not finished, we're starting. It's just starting."

Pitbull is the biggest fighter in Bellator's history, holding the featherweight title twice. He still holds the championship at lightweight, leaving questions about whether he will want to repeat with McKee in an effort to regain his 145-pound belt or move away from defending his title at 155 pounds.
